Nothing Like a Shower

I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I think there isn’t anything more wonderful than a shower. A really luxurious shower. With plenty of hot water, soapy lather and beautifully scented products. I truly love it. I can’t get enough of showering. In fact, I try to have one as often as possible, and I try to stay in for as long as I can before someone else comes along to use the bathroom.

Recently though, I’ve decided that it’s time to upgrade my shower head. I’ve been using an old handheld showerhead for years now, but I don’t think it’s giving me the experience that I’m looking for. I’ve had it for so long that I’m not surprised that it’s giving up the ghost, but it’s just a bit too old-fashioned for these modern times when there is so much choice out there.

I’ve been looking into the different kinds of shower heads available to buy these days and I’ve been amazed by all the options. It seems that whatever kind of shower experience you’ve been dreaming of, there’s a showerhead to suit.

I’ve decided that what I’m looking for is a rain shower head. I’ve heard great things about them, and I love the idea of the powerful massage experience that they provide. I love the idea of one that offers a host of different settings which allows me to change between different modes so I can enjoy a range of different showering experiences, from a relaxing natural rain shower to a powerful wash that’ll wake me up in the morning.

I also want a shower head that matches my bathroom décor. I need something attractive and shiny that looks as good as it feels. After all, yes the experience is important, but so is appearance!

I would also like a self-cleaning shower head as this will mean I don’t have to spend so long scrubbing the bathroom. After all, I’d rather be spending time in there relaxing in the shower not cleaning it! A low maintenance option is key for me.

I’ve narrowed it all down to two different shower heads that I think would suit my needs.

Moen S6320

Moen S6320

This shower head is one of the latest Moen rain shower heads which uses cutting-edge technology. Featuring special immersion technology, it delivers high water pressure with a spoke design to concentrate and magnify the water’s own natural force. This produces a complete body invigorating shower experience.

With a head that measures 8” in diameter and a flow rate of 2.5 GPM, this impressive showerhead features two functions – rinse and rain. The experience can be adjusted using a simple lever between a calming rain and a powerful massage.

As it comes in a number of finishes, it can complement any kind of bathroom décor. As it is also resistant to tarnish, flaking and corrosion, it’s the perfect choice for someone like me who is looking for a low maintenance option.

On the downside, this is an expensive shower head and may have a problem with power if the water pressure is poor.

Hansgrohe 27474001 Raindance Downpour

Hansgrohe 27474001 Raindance Downpour

The best thing about this shower head is that it is much bigger than average, measuring 10” across. Featuring AirPower technology, it uses air to enrich the water droplets and therefore when you choose the RainAir mode you can have an intense experience. There are two other options to choose from – gentle rain shower and powerful massage.

The nozzles have a silicone covering which is simple to clean, giving me the low maintenance solution I’ve been looking for and as it’s available in either a brushed nickel or chrome plated finish it’ll match my bathroom décor perfectly.

On the downside, only half of the nozzles are used in either spray mode, which may mean if the water pressure is weaker in the home that the power is poor when it comes to rinsing off shampoo.
